GRID STEP. You can print out the base construction lines and start drawing on tracing paper, or you can draw the grid layout yourself using the following steps.1) Draw a rectangle that will define the conditional proportions and boundaries of the chosen drawing. 2) From the middle of the rectangle, draw one vertical and one horizontal line equally dividing the shape. 3) Draw another horizontal line equally dividing the upper half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a horizontal line equally dividing the bottom half of the rectangle. 4) Draw a vertical line equally dividing the left half of the rectangle. Similarly, draw a vertical line equally dividing the right half of the rectangle.

STEP 1. Set the object limits on the paper. Using straight lines draw the central veins. Using a curve mark the shape of the stalk.

STEP 2. Using the hemisphere mark a border where the "fingers" of the leaf start to grow. With straight lines mark the boundaries of the each leaf “finger”.
img
STEP 3. With short lines mark the widest places of the leaf "fingers".
img
STEP 4. Draw the overall shape of the leaf with a zigzag.
img
STEP 5. Show with a line the point where the stalk and two lower leaf “fingers” join.
img
STEP 6. Draw a leaf stalk. Draw the central veins shape with the curves. And after that sketch up the smaller veins.
img
STEP 7. Continue to draw the veins. Start working on the detailed silhouettes of the leaf.

STEP 8. Contour, trying to vary the thickness and blackness of the line.Do not forget to erase unnecessary lines and intensify your strokes. Hurray! The leaf is ready
